A few weeks prior to the start of training camp, New England Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry requested a trade. Though nearly a month has passed since that request was made, he remains in Foxborough.

Harry’s agent, Jamal Tooson, criticized the way the Patriots utilize his client on offense. Tooson believes the coaching staff isn’t allowing Harry to play to his strengths.

“Through two seasons, he has 86 targets, which obviously hasn’t met the expectations the Patriots and N’Keal had when they drafted a dominant downfield threat who was virtually unstoppable at the point of attack in college,” Tooson said. “Following numerous conversations with the Patriots I believe it’s time for a fresh start and best for both parties if N’Keal moves on before the start of training camp. That is why I have informed the Patriots today I am formally requesting a trade on behalf of my client.

On Friday, Harry was asked about his trade request. He told reporters that he’s “not worried about anything trade-wise right now.”

Harry also said that if he’s not traded, he’s happy to be a member of the Patriots. That’s a pretty different stance from the one his agent took earlier this month.

In his first two seasons with the Patriots, Harry had 45 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. The Patriots were expecting way more production from Harry when they selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Harry’s future in New England remains up in the air. However, it sounds like the two sides are on better terms now than they were at the start of July.
