Myrtle Beach International Airport to offer new nonstop Allegiant flights to Ohio

The Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) will begin offering a new nonstop route with Allegiant to Akron, Ohio, according to a Monday press release from the airline.

The airport also announced Sunday that Allegiant flights to Albany, N.Y.; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Newburgh, N.Y.; would return this week.

The nonstop route from MYR the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) will begin June 1, and one-way fares will be as low as $39, according to the release sent by Allegiant. The airline’s booking website shows the flights will be available twice a week, on Sundays and Thursdays. The airline also will offer savings on rental cars and hotels to Myrtle Beach-area travelers.

“We’re thrilled to expand our footprint at Myrtle Beach International Airport and expect travelers will enjoy this nonstop summer service to visit family and friends in Ohio,” Drew Wells, Allegiant senior vice president and chief revenue officer, said in the release. “It just became easier for Myrtle Beach-area travelers to get to Northeast Ohio, which is home to many attractions such as professional sports stadiums and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

Flight dates and times can be found at Allegiant.com.

Flights must be purchased by Feb. 21 for travel by Aug. 13. Fare rules, routes and schedules are subject to change.
