Provided/Monterey Bay Suites

Two of the Grand Strand hospitality sector’s biggest names are joining forces to run a luxury high-rise hotel in Horry County’s northern end.

MB National LLC — whose portfolio includes seven Starbucks locations around the region, the Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort in Pawley’s Island and the $79 million dual-branded Courtyard and Springhill Suites tower at 2006 N. Ocean Blvd. — has chosen Brittain Resorts and Hotels to manage Monterey Bay Suites.

Brittain Resorts, which oversees daily operations at the Courtyard and Springhill site, announced its expanded partnership with MB National in a Nov. 18 statement.

Patrick Norton, a Brittain Resorts spokesman, wasn’t immediately available for comment but said in a statement Monterey Bay was a “prime addition” to the company’s assets.

Formed in 1943, Brittain Resorts and Hotels manages 4,000 rooms, suites and condos at more than 22 hotels and resorts nationwide.

MB National was created in 1971 by a consortium of local hotel owners.
