Tony Myers tabbed as new Bronson head football coach

BRONSON – A very familiar name will take over the head coaching duties of the Bronson varsity football program going forward, as 2010 Bronson graduate Tony Myers has been selected as the new head coach of Viking football.

Myers is a familiar face in and around the program, having spent a great deal of time both playing and coaching for the community.

Myers was a part of the 2009 Bronson football team that won a district title and has since coached both football and track in paid and volunteer positions for Bronson Community Schools for three years, most recently serving as junior varsity head coach.

“What set Tony (Myers) apart from the other candidates were his ideas on helping progress our program forward,” said Bronson Athletic Director Jean LaClair. “He would like to approach things differently, and we are super excited to have him lead our football program into the future.”

Myers has a great history with Bronson football, dating back to his place in the lineup of the historic 2009 district champions.

“As your new head coach, I am committed to creating a culture of principle centered, character-driven young men who not only chase victories on the field, but also strive to chase excellence in every facet of their lives,” Myers said. “But I cannot do it alone, I need the community's support and I am always looking for individuals willing to join me in this challenge. Together, we will invest our time and efforts into developing and shaping a program that will bring honor to past and future generations of Bronson. Let us build something truly special from the ground up here at Bronson High School.”
