Back to Mockingbird Lane we go! That's right, The Munsters is returning to the small screen. A reboot titled 1313 is in the works at UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
The title of the new series is, of course, a reference to the Munster family's address at 1313 Mockingbird Lane. The forthcoming drama, developed by James Wan, Lindsey Anderson Beer and Ingrid Bisu, is described as a reimagining of the original sitcom, which aired on CBS from 1964 until 1966.
"So yes… we’ve been quietly (until now) cooking away at this. 1313 is a drama horror version of THE MUNSTERS, that brings it back to its classic Universal Monsters roots," Wan shared on Instagram. "🧛♂️ Maybe the old school gang of classic monsters could happen after all! Cautiously optimistic by this possibility."
