Muncie, Delaware County, Yorktown receive state funds for road and bridge projects

MUNCIE, Ind. — The city of Muncie received $1.5 million in funding from the Indiana Community Crossings Grant.

The amount received through the grant must be matched by the city and be used for local road and bridge projects.

The $1.5 million was the maximum available through the grant, increased from $1 million in 2023.

“We’re very excited to have access to increased funding this year,” Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour said in a news release. “We budgeted carefully to be able to match the grant, and we’re excited to move these projects forward.”

Work on the projects is expected to begin this summer, the release said.
