Each winner will be awarded a one-of-a-kind Athlete of the Week shirt provided by BSN SPORTS. Winners will be contacted within one-two weeks

Nominees are accepted via email or phone, but will be selected by staff in the absence of submission.

TCPalm Athlete of the Week (April 22-27)

Baseball: Dean Buxton, Master’s Academy - The senior tossed a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts and one walk in a win over Glades Day. Offensively, he went-1-for-3 with two walks and an RBI.

Boys Lacrosse: Talen Perez, Vero Beach - The junior scored seven goals during the team’s regional quarterfinal win over Lake Nona.

Boys Track and Field: Kenan Willard, Vero Beach - The junior captured first in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs and was a part of the team’s win at the 3,200 relay in helping Vero capture the District 10-4A title.

Flag Football: Dakota Moberg, Martin County - The senior had four total touchdowns in the team’s regional semifinal win over Harmony. Moberg had 13 catches for 103 yards and three scores. She also added a 77-yard interception return touchdown.

Girls Lacrosse: Jazmyn Morris, Vero Beach - The junior scored six goals, added an assist, 12 draw controls, nine ground balls and three caused turnovers during Vero's 19-7 win over Lake Howell in a regional quarterfinal.

Girls Tennis: Addison Trotter, Master’s Academy - The sophomore won a pair of regional matches at second singles to help the Patriots advance to the Class 1A state championships.

Girls Track and Field: Nyla Christian, Vero Beach - The sophomore had a role in four event victories to help Vero capture the District 10-4A title. Christian won the 100-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles, long jump and was a part of the team’s 400-meter relay victory. .

Softball: Hailey Brereton, St. Lucie West Centennial - Highlighted by a perfect game against Fort Pierce Central, the junior was unbeaten in three games in the circle. She allowed just one run, four hits, no walks and 45 strikeouts through 19 innings of work. Brereton also went 2-for-8 at the plate with a double, three walks and two RBIs.
