A Connecticut jury awarded almost $1 billion in compensatory damages to Sandy Hook families and an FBI agent who sued conspiracy theorist Alex Jones over his lies about the 2012 elementary school massacre.

The Wednesday decision came in a lawsuit filed by the relatives of five children, three educators killed in the mass shooting and an FBI agent who responded to the scene.
