Movers & Shakers: Barbara Cecchi retires after 45 years at MetroWest Medical Center

Barbara Cecchi, manager of case management at MetroWest Medical Center, has retired after 45 years of service at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick and Framingham Union Hospital.

Cecchi started at Leonard Morse as an intensive care unit nurse, then became involved with case management at both hospitals, eventually landing her most recent position as manager of case management, which she held for the last five years. She had been in various roles related to case management for about 30 years.

In a press release, Cecchi said she looks forward to spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, as well as taking small trips with her husband. She also enjoys bike riding, walking on trails, reading and getting back into sewing.

Michael Lavoie, of Upton, was recently hired as executive vice president, senior commercial officer at Cornerstone Bank, which has 11 branch offices in Central Massachusetts.

His responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of commercial banking, including new business generation, portfolio management and underwriting. He will also focus on helping grow and develop Cornerstone’s commercial and industrial lending portfolio.

Most recently, Lavoie served as group manager at M&T Bank, where he was responsible for the Worcester and Springfield markets.

He holds an MBA with a finance concentration from Bentley University. He previously earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.

Medway native Michael Easler, a senior landscape architect with the Sandwich-based Horsley Witten Group, has been named president-elect of the Rhode Island chapter of the The American Society of Landscape Architects.

Easler brings several years of expertise in landscape architecture, site planning and design, green infrastructure design and environmental sustainability. He has led projects that connect public open space and green infrastructure into neighborhood and urban contexts.

He has has also consulted on landscape design improvements to mitigate the effects of rising sea water levels brought about by the effects of climate change at key historic sites, including the House of Seven Gables in Salem, Massachusetts, and Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Easler, a registered landscape architect, holds holds a master’s degree in landscape architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design and a minor in sustainability studies from the University of Minnesota.

Two employees at MutualOne Bank, which has offices in Framingham and Natick, recently earned promotions:

  • Joleen Dick was named assistant vice president and digital banking officer. She is responsible for managing MutualOne’s digital programs and client services activities. Dick started with the bank in 2016 and has held various responsibilities, most recently as client services manager. She holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.

  • Samantha Ramos was named client services assistant manager/officer. She will support client services in overseeing the call center and help assist customers. Ramos joined MutualOne in 2019 as a personal banker. She is pursuing a digital banker certification through the American Bankers Association.
