A motorcyclist has died almost a month after crashing into a pedestrian near Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City police said.

The motorcyclist, Michael E. Douglas, 64, died Monday morning.

At about 11:22 a.m. on Sept. 26, a pedestrian was walking in the first lane of southbound Blue Ridge Cutoff, near 40th Street, at the crosswalk in front of Gate 1 at Arrowhead, according to KCPD’s crash report.

Douglas, who was driving a Harley Davidson south on Blue Ridge Cut-off, also in the first lane, collided with the pedestrian, police said.

“The driver of the Harley Davidson lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected off the motorcycle,” according to Kansas City police. “He was wearing the half-helmet.”

Douglas was initially reported by police to be critically injured. The pedestrian was also hospitalized, with injuries that were not life-threatening.

This is the 74th fatal crash this year in Kansas City, according to data from the police department.
