Motorcyclist dies after collision with car in Millcreek Township on Tuesday.

An Erie man was killed in a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Millcreek Township early Tuesday afternoon, according to Millcreek police and the Erie County Coroner's Office.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook identified the victim, the motorcyclist, as 52-year-old Jamey Umland.

Umland was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday, Cook said.

The accident was reported on Tuesday at 12:02 p.m. in the 4100 block of West 12th Street.

An accident investigator with the Millcreek Township Police Department was called to the scene.

Additional details on the accident were not immediately available Tuesday afternoon.

A portion of West 12th Street was closed between the intersections of Shenk and Montpelier avenues because of the crash shortly after it was reported, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. PennDOT reported the roadway reopened at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.
