Motorcycle rider killed in crash with big rig on Highway 152 west of Los Banos, CHP says
A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a semi-truck just west of Los Banos, according to authorities.
California Highway Patrol officers responded about 5:20 a.m. Friday to the two-vehicle collision at Highway 152 and Volta Road, according to a CHP news release.
Isidro Ramirez Meza, 60, of Dos Palos, was driving a 2021 Peterbilt big rig east on the highway when he attempted a left turn at Volta, the CHP stated. The truck turned into the path of a man riding a 2013 Harley Davidson heading west, according to the report.
The vehicles collided in the intersection resulting in fatal injuries to the motorcycle rider. The motorcycle rider’s name was not released pending notification of family. The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
According to the CHP, neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
