Several injured when military bus, van collide in Northeast El Paso

A half-dozen people were injured when a military bus collided with a van on Sunday evening at the edge of Northeast El Paso near the Texas-New Mexico state line, police said.

Six people, some with serious injuries, were transported to a hospital following a collision between a white military bus and a gray van about 6:30 p.m. on Gateway South Boulevard and State Line Drive, police said.

Names of the injured and further details had not been disclosed. The collision is under investigation by the police Special Traffic Investigations Unit.

The same intersection was the scene of a fatal collision between a car and a semitruck in January. In December, a collision between a car and an SUV in the same area claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman. There are stop signs on State Line Drive, but no stop signs on Gateway.
