Motorcycle club donates benches with suicide prevention messages to Tecumseh schools

TECUMSEH — Tangible reminders that help is available in times of crisis were donated last week to the Tecumseh Public Schools.

Representatives of the Hot Rods Motorcycle Awareness & Suicide Prevention Foundation presented two benches to the district at the board of education's meeting May 13 in the Tecumseh High School media center.

Each bench features the suicide and crisis lifeline number 988 along with the message “You Are NOT Alone.”

During the presentation before the board, foundation representatives reiterated their mission to advocate for motorcycle safety, actively participate in suicide prevention initiatives and support various Michigan-based projects.

These benches join previous donations to schools in Milan, Dundee and Monroe, further extending Hot Rods' outreach throughout the state.

Hot Rods also invited the community to their car and bike show on Sept. 7 at Wilson Park in Milan. The show is the organizations' main fundraiser each year.
