While each pup acts as the cutest helper on Drummond ranch, Labs ranked as the overall most popular dog breed across America in 2021—for the 31st year in a row, no less! (Don't worry, small dog lovers: French bulldogs were a close second.)

And yet, the "most popular" is a hard category to pin down across the country as a whole. That's why the American Kennel Club compiled a list of the most popular dog breeds in every city, and the results are adorable! Not all city-dwellers prefer small dog breeds or even medium dog breeds, but the national runner-up French bulldog does take the top spot in many cities.
