Most mock draft experts think Buffalo Bills will take a WR in first round: The options

There have been countless drafts of mock drafts for the 2024 NFL Draft, which begins April 25 in Detroit.

Most have the Chicago Bears taking USC quarterback Caleb Williams first overall.

But whom might the Buffalo Bills take with their first pick, which is 28th overall as of now?

It's no secret Buffalo will look to add some receivers for quarterback Josh Allen after trading Stefon Diggs.

Here's a look at some recent mock drafts and which players they see the Bills taking in the first round.

Bleacher Report

Keon Coleman, Florida State, WR

Size: 6-4, 215

Numbers: 115 catches, 1,506 yards, 19 TDs in 3 seasons at Michigan State, FSU

Lowdown: Deep threat with good hands. Scouts say his route running needs improvement. Another high-ceiling prospect.

CBS Sports

Ladd McConkey, Georgia, WR

Ladd McConkey #84 of the Georgia Bulldogs scores a touchdown during the first half against the Oregon Ducks at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on September 3, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia.

* Bills trade 28th pick to the Carolina Panthers, who choose Texas receiver Xavier Worthy, for the first pick in the second round.

Size: 6-0, 186

Numbers: 119 catches, 1,687 yards, 14 TDs; 2 TDs rushing in 4 seasons at Georgia

Lowdown: Injuries may have slowed him a bit last season. Viewed as good route runner with strong hands.

Brian Thomas, LSU, WR

Size: 6-5, 198

Numbers: 127 catches, 1,897 yards, 24 TDs in 3 seasons at LSU

Lowdown: Considered a raw prospect with a high ceiling. Yards after the catch is one of his specialties. A deep threat. Led nation in TD catches last season with 17.

Numbers: 197 catches, 2,755 yards, 26 TDs in 3 seasons at Texas

Lowdown: Can go deep, can run routes, has exception hands. Elite speed. Biggest knock is his frame.

Pro Football Focus

Troy Franklin, Oregon, WR

Size: 6-2, 170

Numbers: 160 catches, 2,483 yards, 25 TDs in 3 years at Oregon

Lowdown: Another fast, smallish receiver with big upside.

USA Today

* Bills trade 28th pick to the Los Angeles Rams, who choose Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson, for the 14th overall pick.

Adonai Mitchell, Texas, WR

Size: 6-2, 205

Numbers: 51 catches, 813 yards, 10 TDs

Lowdown: Hands and catch radius make him attractive. Not a great blocker.

Yahoo Sports

Jared Verse, Florida State, DL

Size: 6-4, 254

Numbers: 40 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 9 sacks

Lowdown: The argument here is that the Bills can get a good receiver without picking one in the first round. He's a pass rusher and run defender.
