The internet can be a dark and scary place — but these heartwarming TikToks of the year are sure to leave you with a smile on your face entering 2023. From animals and miracles to children saving family businesses, sit back and take in the wonderful world of TikTok.

‘A loving rescue with a heart of gold’

Anna the pitbull mix stole millions of hearts on TikTok this year and was nominated for the title of America’s Favorite Pet. Her secret heart-melting weapon? A cheesy smile.

“Anna and her mom are committed to making people smile. Anna’s videos have changed the lives of so many people and she continues to bring light and joy to all her come her way! Anna is a true angel,” the pup’s owner wrote on TikTok, McClatchy News previously reported.

Not just an ‘Instacart worker’

Jessica Higgs was delivering an Instacart order for a dad when she noticed something was wrong, McClatchy News reported.

In a heart-wrenching TikTok video, Higgs recounted her delivery and noticing the man appeared sick and that a propane tank was inside his home.

“Something was telling me, ‘No you gotta help this man out,’” she said through tears in the TikTok. “He came out, and I was like, ‘OK let me help you,’ and I got the groceries. You’re not supposed to go inside someone’s house, but I used my judgment and I brought the groceries inside and put them down wherever he wanted me to put them down.”

Higgs contacted the man’s daughter, who later gave her a $100 tip for helping save her father’s life.

“Thank you so much, once my son went to check on my dad it turned out it was definitely leaking,” the customer told Higgs, McClatchy News reported. “You definitely saved my dad and my younger son’s life!”

‘There’s definitely hope for people’

When 13 strangers got stranded in Orlando, Florida after their flight to Nashville, Tennessee, got canceled, they all took a leap of faith and hopped in a Hertz van to get to their destination on time.

The TikToks chronicling the eight-hour journey went viral and had a happy ending. Even a college student-to-be made it to her university tour with just an hour or two to spare.

“I feel like this situation for me specifically kind of restored my trust and humanity a little bit,” one of the travelers told CNN Travel. “There’s definitely hope for people — people, they can be good. And also, if you get the opportunity to go on a crazy adventure, you should take it, because you never know what’s gonna come out of it.”

‘Outstanding amount of sales’

Illinois TikToker Isabel Milan couldn’t stand to see her mom so down in their taco shop, which was entirely void of customers as Christmas crept closer, McClatchy News reported.

“It breaks my heart to see my mom watching the door every day waiting for a customer to walk in,” she said in her TikTok and asked viewers to help make a Christmas miracle possible.

It didn’t take long for that wish to come true — within a week, the once-empty restaurant was flooding with customers, some of who traveled hours to help support the family business.

‘Someone that finds the good in everything’

When 54-year-old Kevin Ford reached his 27th work anniversary at a Burger King in Las Vegas, he was gifted a blue lanyard, a single movie ticket, some Lifesaver candies and a Starbucks cup.

It made his day, but many on TikTok thought he deserved more.

Within 10 days of a post about Ford’s work milestone, TikTok had helped raise over $250,000 in donations to help the father retire.

“I’ve been crying for about two days now. It’s just incredible,” Kevin Ford told TODAY Food. “I just go to work and try to have fun and laugh and make other people’s day good. It’s like I’ve been in a dream for almost two days now. It’s just so beautiful and awesome. It really is.”
