This Morning's Alison Hammond has reacted to Madame Tussauds' creation of her waxwork figure.

Appearing on today's (April 26) show alongside co-presenter Dermot O'Leary, Alison eagerly awaited the unveiling of her waxy doppelgänger, almost a year after Madame Tussauds announced they were adding her to their Blackpool museum.

As the presenters waited for the curtain to be dropped on the eerily lifelike statue, Dermot said, "Here we go! Get ready for double trouble my friends, the moment we've been waiting for..."

"Oh my god! Does it look like me," Alison said upon seeing the completed waxwork, before heading over to stand next to it.

"It's so good," Dermot replied.

Alison added that it was "so weird" to be able to see herself from behind before joking that she thought the waxwork was even "more beautiful" than herself.

The pair then linked arms with the figure, leading Alison to quiz her co-presenter on what it was like being in the middle of "an Alison sandwich," to which Dermot replied: "It's quite overwhelming. I've got to be honest with you! I’m not sure I can handle more than one!"

Alison also reflected on the hard work that goes into creating a waxwork figure, as viewers were shown a behind-the-scenes look at the The Great British Bake Off presenter's model being made.

She went on to add that it was also quite painful to be stood in the same position for so long while the artists captured her likeness, saying: "I was standing for so long smiling that my face was killing and my thumb (on her waist) because I was doing it for hours.

"My thumb just went dead for the next few days! I was in a lot of pain!"

Fans will be able to see Alison's waxwork in person when it goes on display at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, with more information available here.
