South Florida women’s soccer fans have a chance to see some of the best players in the world when the No. 1-ranked U.S. national team plays No. 3 Germany in a Nov. 10 nationally televised friendly at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

It is the first time the U.S. women play in Fort Lauderdale in 22 years.

U.S. coach Vlatko Andonovski on Monday named the 24-player roster, which includes Alex Morgan, Mallory Pugh, Megan Rapinoe, Trinity Rodman (daughter of the former NBA star Dennis Rodman), Rose Lavelle, Crystal Dunn, Becky Sauerbrunn and Lindsey Horan.

Morgan, who scored 15 NWSL goals this season with the San Diego Wave, and Pugh, 11 goals with the Chicago Red Stars, are back after missing the team’s October European tour. Morgan has 198 international appearances and is on the verge of becoming just the 13th player in USWNT history to reach 200.

Midfielder Taylor Kornieck returns from an ankle injury as does 2021 Olympic bronze medalist and 2019 World Cup winner Adrianna Franch, who helped the Kansas City Current reach the 2022 NWSL Championship game.

The roster includes three NWSL end-of-season award winners in Morgan, who won the Golden Boot, Most Valuable Player Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns FC) and Rookie of the Year and Defender of the Year Naomi Girma (San Diego Wave FC).

“These are the kinds of games that help our World Cup preparation in many ways and these 180 minutes to end our schedule this year are going to be extremely valuable for the players and coaches,” Andonovski said of the Fort Lauderdale game and another at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. “It will be good to get some players back on the roster and we’re all expecting these games to be very competitive and entertaining for fans.”

Germany played in the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro final in July and lost in overtime to host England, 2-1, in front of a record crowd at Wembley Stadium. Midfielder Lina Magull scored the lone goal for Germany, which played without star forward Alexandra Popp. She was injured during warmups and could not add to her six tournament goals, which tied for most in the competition. Popp is expected to play against the United States in Fort Lauderdale.

The game will be at 7 p.m. and broadcast on FS1.
