More free COVID-19 test kits available through USPS starting Nov. 20

Every household in the United States now is eligible to order more free rapid COVID-19 test kits from the federal government.

Beginning Nov. 20, households that previously ordered tests this fall (ordering began Sept. 25) may request four more rapid antigen test kits. Anyone who did not order tests this fall may place two orders, for a total of eight tests.

The orders, placed through the United States Postal Service, are free of charge, including shipping.

The government also wants to remind users that test kits beyond their expiration date may have had their window extended by the Food and Drug Administration.
