A wind chill advisory is in effect for the Myrtle Beach area for most of Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory will be in effect until 11 a.m.

The temperature will range between 27 and 35 degrees, said a meteorologist in Wilmington, N.C., with a wind chill index of 0 to 5 degrees.

The cold weather is supposed to continue through the evening with high temperatures near freezing.

“Arctic high pressure will keep cold air hanging around into early next week with breezy conditions lingering,” according to a NWS Twitter post.

Wind chills that low could lead to hypothermia, if the appropriate clothes are not worn such as, hats and gloves.
