Monaco's Royal Family Just Debuted an Elegant Christmas Card

It's royal holiday photo season, and royal watchers have plenty to celebrate. King Charles and Camilla as well as Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their kids all unveiled their annual holiday cards recently, and the Spanish royal family got in on the act this week with their own sweet family snap. Today, the Monegasque royals also joined in, posting their family holiday portrait on Instagram.

Reportedly taken inside the palace, the image features Princess Charlene in a flowing gold velvet gown with an asymmetrical, gathered, off-the-shoulder neckline. She paired the gown with dangling chandelier earrings and a diamond bracelet. She sits on a bench in front of an ornate Christmas tree along side her children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, while Albert stands proudly behind the trio.

As they did previously on Monaco's National Day in November, the young twins wore outfits to compliment their parents—Jacques in a suit and evergreen bowtie, a counterpoint to his father, Prince Albert's, scarlet version; Gabriella in a velvet dress in an inky shade of eggplant with Mary Janes.

The photo will feature on the family's 2023 holiday card, along with an inscription in French, English and Monagasque reading, "May this holiday season bring all the happiness for you and your loved ones. Merry Christmas and happy New Year 2024."

The holiday season is always a busy time for Monaco's royal family, and this year is no different. Princess Charlene recently opened the nation's Christmas village in festive fashion, and their annual holiday party of the children of Monaco—a tradition started by Albert's mother, Grace Kelly—is scheduled for next week.
