A Philadelphia high school senior’s reaction to getting into college has gone viral on social media.

Amir Staten learned that he was accepted into Atlanta’s Morehouse College and quite literally couldn’t contain his excitement after reading the acceptance email, according to WMAZ.

Staten was pulling into the Germantown home he shares with his mother before realizing Morehouse College’s decision email was waiting for him in his inbox, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“I’m like, ‘Mom! I just got an email!’ She’s like, ‘Open it, what are you waiting for?’” the Germantown Friends School senior told WPVI. “So, I open the email in the rain, and lo and behold, it says: ‘Congratulations you just got into Morehouse!’”

The video , which has racked up thousands of views after being posted on Instagram, shows Staten running up and down his street before hugging his proud mother, who says“He got into Morehouse ya’ll! Yeah, baby!”

The university took to Twitter to congratulate Staten on his acceptance and welcome him to the class of 2027.

“Take this joy and sprint into your weekend!” the university said.

Some notable alumni of Morehouse College include Martin Luther King Jr. and Spike Lee, according to the historically Black men’s liberal arts school’s website

“I promise you there couldn’t be a more deserving kid. My son has overcame every obstacle put in front of him. He’s a honor roll scholar, star athlete, leader, and a peer mentor,” Staten’s mother said in a GoFundMe page to help pay for his move to Atlanta.

Germantown is a neighborhood in northwest Philadelphia.
