Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson lands next TV role
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson has landed his next TV role in the upcoming The Good Wife spin-off series Elsbeth.
Starring Carrie Preston, who is reprising her role of Elsbeth Tascioni from both The Good Wife and its first spin-off The Good Fight, the series is set for release in the US next month.
Taking to Twitter / X, Preston revealed that Ferguson would be guest-starring on the show while also announcing its release date.

Preston shared an on-set picture of herself beaming alongside Ferguson who has his arm wrapped around the Elsbeth actress.
"Look who's joining the Elsbeth family! My dear friend @jessetyler will be guest starring on @elsbethcbs this season!! And don't miss the series premiere Thursday, February 29 at 10pm on @CBSTVStudios," she captioned the post.
According to TVLine, Ferguson is set to feature as a character named Skip Mason, a TV producer whose storyline involves murder and blackmail.
"The brilliant creator and producer of Lavish Ladies, a popular reality TV show featuring wealthy women and too much white wine," reads his character description. "In his mad pursuit of 'good TV', Skip makes some bad decisions that lead to resentment, blackmail, and murder."

Back in May, CBS confirmed the latest spin-off to its hugely successful legal drama following the end of its first spin-off series The Good Fight in 2022.
Elsbeth sees Preston's titular character as she continues her career in Chicago where she aids the New York Police Department in catching criminals. Joining Preston on the cast are Carra Patterson and Wendell Pierce who will star as new characters Officer Kaya and Captain CW Wagner, respectively.
Michelle King and Robert King will continue their writing and executive producing duties while Jonathan Tolins, who worked on The Good Fight, will serve as showrunner.
Elsbeth will premiere February 29 on CBS TV.
