With just over three weeks until the first Sporting KC match of 2023, fans can now sign up for MLS Season Pass, which will be the only guaranteed way to watch every single Sporting match this season.

Fans who sign up for MLS Season Pass can watch all games through the Apple TV app. If you are an Android, Windows PC or Chrome OS user, you can access it through tv.apple.com.

It does cost a pretty penny. If you are an Apple TV+ subscriber, it will set you back $12.99 a month, or you can pay $79 upfront for the whole season. If you are not an Apple TV+ subscriber, it will cost you $14.99 monthly or $99 for the whole season. Season-ticket holders will receive a free MLS Season Pass subscription.

Per Apple’s release: Through Apple Family Sharing, up to six family members can share the subscription on their own Apple ID and password.

All matches will be broadcast in English and Spanish, with the option to listen to Sporting KC’s home radio broadcast. Details for those radio broadcasts and crew will be announced ahead of the season. National TV games broadcast through Fox will still be available through cable and streaming subscriptions as has previously been the case. Sporting KC currently has three games scheduled for a national broadcast.

MLS Season Pass subscribers can watch every regular season, Leagues Cup and playoff match across the league. Sporting KC’s Leagues Cup draw was previously announced and will feature one of the top clubs in North America.

For those who don’t subscribe to MLS Season Pass, a select amount of games each week will be available at no extra cost for Apple TV+ subscribers. A smaller amount of games will be available through the platform for those who are not subscribed to either.

MLS announced its 10-year, $2.5-billion deal with Apple for the league’s broadcasting right last summer. Sporting quickly pivoted away from Bally Sports TV before the 2022 season, signing only a one-year deal with 38 The Spot. Major League Soccer asked its clubs not to negotiate local broadcast deals beyond the 2022 season as it looked to package all of the teams’ broadcast rights into a single national deal.

Sporting KC’s first Apple TV broadcast is on February 25, when the club travels to Portland to kick off their 2023 campaign. The team is currently preparing for the season opener in Arizona.
