MLB World Reacts To Tuesday’s Freddie Freeman News
The Los Angeles Dodgers could be gunning for a significant free-agent move this offseason.
According to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, multiple teams, including the Dodgers, are looking to “pry” superstar first baseman Freddie Freeman away from his World Series-winning Atlanta Braves squad.
Yesterday, the Dodgers lost shortstop Corey Seager to the Texas Rangers in free agency. Heyman believes the Los Angeles squad have the best shot at landing Freeman, a left-handed batter and Southern California product, in free agency.
The Yankees and Blue Jays have reportedly also reached out with interest in acquiring Freeman.
Fans from around the MLB world took to Twitter with reaction to this news.
Sill think he ends up re-signing with the Braves but Freeman is one of the best players in MLB, any team should love having him https://t.co/TCfsd0GGqJ

Freddie Freeman? Love that he is a left handed bat but where would Vlad play? Would Freeman DH or Vlad move back to third? Would be thrilled to have Freddie's bat in the lineup but moving Vlad off 1st isn't exactly ideal. One of the big reasons Vladdy excelled imo. #BlueJays https://t.co/lI9cMe73AF

I would never question another Cashman move ever again.
Personally think there’s less then a 2% Atlanta loses him but we’ve seen crazier things. https://t.co/dMwWyNbjhQ

Coming off his MVP season in 2020, Freeman put together yet another solid year in 2021. Earning his fifth All Star appearance, the superstar infielder played a massive role in the Braves’ run to a World Series title.
It’s hard to imagine Freeman leaving Atlanta, where he’s played the entirety of his 12-year MLB career. But, if the Braves aren’t willing to pay up, teams like the Dodgers, Yankees and Blue Jays could swoop in and claim the big-time player.
Will Freeman re-sign in Atlanta or take his unique talents elsewhere?
