Brace yourself, baseball fans. Believe it or not, the Los Angeles Dodgers are on the verge of becoming even better than they were last season.

Per ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Dodgers are close to striking a deal with the Washington Nationals that would land them both Max Scherzer and Trea Turner. No, we’re not kidding.

The Dodgers have been in the thick of the race to land Scherzer, but they’ve had competition. The Padres were once considered the favorites. But it looks like the Dodgers are closing strong and on the verge of acquiring Scherzer and Turner.

It’s safe to say this would turn the baseball world upside down.

It’s not a done deal just yet, though. The Dodgers need to send the Nats a whole bunch of elite prospects. The Nationals aren’t going to give up Max Scherzer and Trea Turner for free.

Regardless, baseball fans aren’t thrilled with Passan’s latest report. The defending champs are going to be even better if they can complete a deal with the Nationals.

Take a look at how baseball fans are reacting to the latest news surrounding the Dodgers, Scherzer, Turner and the Nats.

It’s easy to hate the Dodgers for assembling a super team. But the reality is they’re probably just willing to give up way more than others.

The Nationals want as many assets they can acquire in giving up Max Scherzer and, in this case, Trea Turner. Props to the Dodgers for selling the house to win now as opposed to being conservative.
