Mets and Yankees line up before a game.

On Saturday night, the New York Yankees and New York Mets stepped on the field for a crosstown matchup.

While Mets and Yankees fans traditionally don’t always get along, tonight’s game took on a different tone. To acknowledge the 20th anniversary of 9/11, former managers Bobby Valentine and Joe Torre were asked to throw the first pitches.

But that’s not the only thing the two teams did tonight. Before the game officially kicked off, members from both teams took the field together and lined up as a unified New York.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the incredible display.

The two teams held a remembrance ceremony before the game started on Saturday night. It was an incredible scene made even more incredible by both teams coming together as one on the field.

Well done to the Yankees and Mets.
