MLB World Reacts To The ‘Field Of Dreams’ Jerseys

There’s one week to go before MLB at Field of Dreams game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox in Iowa. And both teams will have some new jerseys for the occasion.

On Thursday, Major League Baseball revealed the throwback uniforms the two teams will wear for next week’s game. The White Sox will sport an old-fashioned cap with vertical stripes on top of their striped white uniforms. Meanwhile, the Yankees will be wearing a jersey nearly identical to their current one, but with a differently-shaped logo.

But MLB fans aren’t exactly whipping themselves up into a frenzy over these new jerseys. One of the biggest complaints is how prominent the Nike logo is on the front of the shirt, in stark contrast to the throwback feel.

Another issue is vexing Yankees fans too. Specifically, just how similar this jersey is to their current one.

The MLB Field of Dreams game was originally supposed to be played between the two teams on August 13, 2020. Unfortunately, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to cancel those plans.

The game was rescheduled for 2021, and we’re just around the corner from the game finally being the played.

MLB at Field of Dreams is being played in Dyersville, Iowa at the park built for the 1989 sports fantasy drama, Field of Dreams, starring Kevin Costner.

It would be pretty nice if the actual game gives us moments comparable to what the legendary film did.
