When In The Know brought Mj Rodriguez and Chella Man together for our first-ever digital cover shoot, even we couldn’t have anticipated the chill-inducing energy this duo would produce.

Over the course of a day-long shoot at Smashbox Studios in Downtown Los Angeles, the two trailblazing trans stars shot with photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis in three looks each, resulting in a powerful, fashion-forward cover spread that you can see here.

There was just as much fun to be had between takes, however: After shooting some photos together in their most colorful looks of the day — Chella in a sequined blue Libertine set and Mj in a vintage two-piece by Versace Jeans — they sat down to ask each other some rapid-fire questions that give more insight into who they are. They shared their quirks, what they can’t live without, the last items they purchased, their mantras, ways that they practice self-preservation and more.
