About Mississippi (9-10, 1-6 SEC):

Through seven games in conference play, it has been tough sledding for Mississippi. Matthew Murrell leads the team with 14.9 points per game, but the Rebels have lost six of their first seven conference games. Mississippi’s only win came against South Carolina on the road last week. Murrell scored 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had three assists in the win.

Behind a relatively easy nonconference schedule, Mississippi began 6-0, but the team has won just two games since Dec. 14. As a team, Mississippi ranks No. 324 in points scored and No. 333 in three-point percentage..

About Missouri (14-5, 3-4):

Missouri is coming off a 21 point loss to then-No. 4 Alabama, but more important is the health of star player Kobe Brown. The team’s leading scorer and rebounder was held out of Saturday’s game by coach Dennis Gates after tweaking his ankle against Arkansas on Wednesday. It would appear that Brown will likely play Tuesday against Mississippi after participating in warmups Saturday.

The Tigers were overmatched against the Crimson Tide and shot 32.9% from the field. While the absence of Brown was noticeable, Isiaih Mosley was a bright spot for the Tigers in his second straight game in action after not playing for most of the season. He scored 19 points on 9-of-18 shooting. Although the Tigers opened as underdogs, this is a game that a tournament team should win.
