The Midlands is losing a Piggly Wiggly grocery store.

The Piggly Wiggly at 760 Highway 378 in Lexington, near the intersection of St. Peters Road, will close next month, according to a social media post from the store.

“We are sad to say our store will be closing on February 5th,” Piggly Wiggly of Lexington said in a Tuesday post on Facebook. “All grocery items are 25% off, this does not include fresh departments. Thank you to all our loyal customers, we will miss you!”

Banners hanging outside the Piggly Wiggly and along St. Peters Road on Tuesday touted a store closing sale.

The spot at 760 Highway 378 is the only Piggly Wiggly location in Lexington County. Other Midlands locations of the grocer include a spot at 6325 North Main St. in Columbia and one at 3818 Devine St. in Columbia, known by many as the “Social Pig.”

There are other grocery store options near the closing Highway 378 Piggly Wiggly location. There is a Publix directly across the street in the Hendrix Crossing shopping center, and a Lowes Foods a mile away at 2440 Augusta Highway.
