Meet the New Miss America 2024 and the 50 Lovely Ladies Who Make Up Her Court
Miss America Madison Marsh
The votes have been counted and there’s a new Miss America for 2024! Miss Colorado Madison Marsh was awarded the Austrian Crystal emblazoned crown, and the $60,000 tuition scholarship. She was crowned by outgoing Miss America 2023 Grace Stanke of Wisconsin.
Who won Miss America tonight?
According to her Miss Colorado bio: Madison is a 2023 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in physics. She is a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force making her the first Active Duty Air Force officer to be a Miss America state titleholder. After her mother's passing from pancreatic cancer in 2018, she began the Whitney Marsh Foundation with her family. As president and founder, she has been able to raise more than a quarter million dollars for research with her leadership team at the foundation.
Madison is currently a graduate intern with Harvard Medical School to utilize artificial intelligence to detect pancreatic cancer. She is now pursuing her Master's in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School with her national Truman Scholarship. In her free time, Madison enjoys flying planes, cooking pasta, and reading.
What was Madison's winning quote?
When asked how her career has equipped her to be our next Miss America, her winning answer was: “Right now I'm 2nd Lieutenant Marsh. That would make me the very first military member to ever win Miss America. Graduating from the Air Force Academy has enabled me with the skills to lead, to learn, and lead with passion across our nation. Being president of the Whitney Marsh Foundation, which I started after my mom, has equipped me with those same skills to inspire and educate people about pancreatic cancer, to inspire people to be the next to break stereotypes and break boundaries, and that is exactly what I would do as 2nd Lieutenant Marsh and Miss America.”
