Miranda Lambert to host Nashville benefit concert 'Music for Mutts'
Country music singer Miranda Lambert has announced that she will take the stage in Nashville this fall at Ascend Amphitheater in support of her animal friends.
The "Mama's Broken Heart" singer will host a benefit concert on Saturday, Oct. 5. The evening of music will benefit her MuttNation foundation and will be presented by Tractor Supply Company.
Lambert's "Music for Mutts" concert will benefit the foundation she began in 2009 with her mother, Bev.
MuttNation, a 501c3 non-profit, has raised nearly $10 million to date on behalf of supporting animal adoption of shelter pets and their wellbeing, all across the nation.
The non-profit also provides support to neuter and spay initiatives, public education about animals and relocating animals during natural disasters.
“I wanted to do something special to celebrate MuttNation’s 15th anniversary and thought sharing an evening of great music with some great friends that will also feature lots of mutts would be about as much fun as anything I could imagine,” Lambert said in a press release.
“We’ll have an adoption event and lots of other activities — and just make it a big party," she added. "I hope everyone will come out and party with us.”

Lambert will headline the benefit concert.
The lineup has not yet been announced. Additional artists will be announced this summer.
