Minnesota Vikings player Jaylen Twyman shot four times in D.C.

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman was shot four times in Washington, D.C., on Monday, according to police. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Twyman, 21, played his first season in the NFL last year, and prior to that, he played at the University of Pittsburgh.

He was visiting his aunt in his hometown of D.C. and on his way there, he was shot in his car, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Three others were injured in the shooting that took place in the evening. Like Twyman, all of the injuries of the other victims are also not life-threatening.

Rosenahus said to ABC News that his client “was an innocent bystander” in this incident.

“Jaylen is recovering and feeling better,” Rosenhaus said. “He will be released from the hospital in a few days and is expected to be healthy enough in time to play football this season.”

“We have been in direct contact with Jaylen and his family, and we are extremely thankful Jaylen is expected to make a full recovery,” a statement from the Vikings read.
