Milwaukee police find vehicle connected to fatal hit-and-run, take one into custody

Milwaukee police arrested a 33-year-old and found the vehicle in connection to a hit-and-run that killed two people on Sunday.

Milwaukee Police said they found the vehicle at about 7 p.m. in the 500 block of W. Arthur Avenue and took the person into custody.

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office and the investigation is ongoing, the release said.

The hit-and-run occurred around 2:45 a.m. on the 1900 block of W. Lincoln Avenue on Sunday, police said in an initial news release. A 41-year-old and a 39-year-old were killed when a vehicle driving east hit them and a parked car. No injuries were reported to those in the parked car and police said the driver fled the scene.

The crash also came less than a week after another hit-and-run, when a driver killed a 4-year-old girl and injured her mother on Milwaukee’s north side. A suspect was charged with five felonies in connection to that incident.
