Milwaukee is one of the 'friendliest cities' in America, Conde Nast Traveler says

The Good Land is full of good people, at least that's what Conde Nast Traveler thinks.

According to the luxury and lifestyle magazine, Milwaukee was ranked as one of the "Friendliest Cities in the U.S." as part of Conde Nast Traveler's 2023 Reader's Choice Awards.

Readers rated the "friendliness" of various cities on the basis of several factors including whether they felt welcome when they traveled; if a local went out of their way to give them directions; whether a city was easy to navigate; and, perhaps most importantly (or at least elusively) whether travelers got good vibes from the people around them.

Turns out we do all those things in Milwaukee and enough to make a noticeable difference — at least to visitors.

Here's what Conde Nast Traveler said made Milwaukee so friendly:

"Voted one of the best large cities in the U.S. this year, Milwaukee also stands out for its friendliness — it has some of that famous 'Midwest nice' you’ve heard about, sure, but its growing arts scene and increasing popularity among young people are major factors."
