Holiday dining celebrates both old and new traditions as family and friends gather at the table. Here are some Milwaukee-area restaurants offering special Christmas meals for dine-in, or to bring home for the holidays. Advance reservations and pre-orders are required at most restaurants.

Aria

This restaurant is offering a special prix fixe menu featuring garlic and herb-crusted prime rib, pork tamales, honey-glazed heirloom carrots, chocolate silk pie and more, from 2 to 9 p.m. Dec. 24 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 25. Clifford's Supper Club

Open noon to 7 p.m. Christmas Day for dine-in and take out. Traditional Christmas entrees include: ham steak with pineapple ($27), one half Muscovy duckling with applesauce ($29), and broasted chicken with cranberry sauce ($27). Steaks, chops and seafood entrees range in price from $29 to $68. Dinners include a tossed salad, soup, rolls and butter, whole kernel corn or green bean casserole, choice of potato, dessert, and milk or coffee. Offering both its regular menu and a special prix fixe Christmas menu from 1 to 8 p.m. Dec. 25. The Christmas Chef’s Special is $85 and features beef Wellington with classic red wine sauce, whipped potatoes, and french-style green beans with almonds. Order a Holiday Meal Package for pickup from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 23. The $250 package serves four and features prime rib with garlic and thyme, garnished with saffron poached pear, fig and golden raisin, and served with sides of roasted vegetables, potatoes with duck confit, and topped with parmesan bread crumbs. Package includes rolls and butter, and a holiday fruit cake with white chocolate and brandied cherries for dessert. All items are cold at pickup and include simple reheating instructions. Ward’s House of Prime

Make your reservation for dining Christmas Eve, or bring Ward’s home for the holidays. Dinners, sides, desserts, and just the meat portions are available for pickup from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 25. Christmas To Go menu features a prime rib dinner ($65 for one, and from $125 for two to $600 for a whole prime rib serving nine to 12) that includes creamy horseradish, salad, mushrooms, mashed potatoes and buttered corn. Entrees feature a choice of prime rib, salmon, or lobster tails, and include sides, a roasted chestnut bisque, salad and dessert. A Christmas Day buffet ($66.95 adults, $22.95 for children ages 6 to 12) is offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 25. The menu features carved prime rib and roasted goose, a shrimp ice tower, salad and soup, and the traditional breakfast items of omelets, sausage, waffles, pancakes, fresh fruit and pastries, plus Christmas cookies, Figgy pudding and a rum Yule log.
