Millie Bobby Brown Shares Her Unfiltered Thoughts on ‘Stranger Things’ Ending

While some Stranger Things fans may feel sad at the thought of the fifth season bringing the hit horror series to an end, some of its stars believe it’ll be time for them to move on once the final episodes are released.
Millie Bobby Brown, who has starred in the show as Eleven since its 2016 debut on Netflix, said during a recent interview with The Sun that, for now, she and the rest of the cast and crew are “not thinking about the end.”
The 20-year-old actress compared wrapping up Stranger Things to “graduating high school,” adding that the show has “been such a huge factor in part of my life” but that it will soon be “time to live your own life, it’s time for it to end.”

The last time Stranger Things fans saw any new episodes was during the summer of 2022 when the second part of Season 4 was released. The series was renewed for its fifth season in February 2022, though it’s expected to be the show’s last. Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer previously said they always intended for Stranger Things to last five seasons at most, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and while the story “proved too large to tell in four,” those involved in its creation are “now hurtling toward our finale.”
The show confirmed in early January that production for Season 5 was underway. The final season does not yet have an official release date.
In addition to their ongoing work on Stranger Things, Brown and other members of the cast have embraced other projects in film and television. While Brown recently celebrated the premiere of Damsel, her new Netflix movie, fellow Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard also starred in the new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire film, which hit theaters last week.
Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler on Stranger Things, also spoke previously about the end of the show. During an interview last year with Uproxx, the 21-year-old actor said he wasn’t yet “ready” for it to be over. He said he wanted to help bring the show to an end, but clarified that it was more due to his curiosity about the story than a desire to “be done with it.”
In comments that were similar to Brown’s about the need to “live your own life,” Wolfhard told Uproxx that “it’s the next kind of chapter of everyone’s life that needs to happen.”
