Miley Cyrus paid homage to the Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll at the 2024 Grammys.

To perform her smash hit “Flowers,” Cyrus wore a metallic-silver fringe dress that channeled the late Tina Turner, and even sported a voluminous layered blowout (inspired by Turner’s famous ’do) to complete the look. Before taking the stage, Cyrus appeared in a short video talking about the success of “Flowers” and preparing to perform on the Grammys stage; she said she only ever wants her personal musical idols to be proud of the artist she’s become. She specifically named Dolly Parton, Patti LaBelle, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and—of course—Turner as some of her biggest musical heroes.

Cyrus let loose during the performance, ad-libbing off-the-cuff comments during the song, including a dig at the audience.

"Why are you all acting like you don't know the words to this song?" she said which garnered a round of laughs. She also not-so-subtly hinted at the song's initial inspiration during her time onstage as well, quipping "We fought a lot!" along other comments. Many consider "Flowers" Cyrus's most vulnerable breakup track following her divorce from actor Liam Hemsworth.

The star also shouted out the fact tonight marks her first Grammy win ever, an astonishing feat since the artist has been a music industry mainstay for almost two decades now. (She had an early start at her career of course, because who can forget the wild success of Hannah Montana and her debut 2007 album Meet Miley Cyrus?). She won the ceremony's first award of the night for "Best Pop Solo Performance" for the standout track.
