Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake's 2011 romantic-comedy Friends with Benefits is getting the remake treatment over in Brazil.

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures International Productions and Biônica Filmes are teaming up for this one, with director Rafael Gomes, and actors Maria Bopp and Ícaro Silva all involved.

It'll be titled Amizade Colorida.

In the movie, Kunis' headhunter Jamie becomes Julia (played by Bopp). Based in São Paulo, Julia invites Salvador art director Daniel (that's Silva) for a job interview at a major tech firm.

Daniel (Timberlake's Dylan in the original) is initially unmoved by the opportunity, what with having to ditch his seaside Bahia home and family, but after a day of guided city exploration, he accepts.

Soon enough, their working relationship shifts into a friends-with-benefits situation until both realise that they're actually in love with each other.

Celebrating this exciting re-do, Sony Pictures International Productions head Shebnem Askin shared in a statement: "We're always looking for authentic, diverse content in Brazil, and our first-time collaboration with Biônica Filmes, which has created an amazing take on one of Sony Pictures' iconic romantic comedies, Friends with Benefits, will bring audiences a new film to fall in love with."

Karen Castanho of Biônica Filmes added: "All of us at Biônica are honoured to be teaming up with Sony Pictures International Productions for the first time. What a way to celebrate our 10-year anniversary! We have always appreciated the film and it's a thrill to adapt this fan favourite for Brazil."

The original Friends with Benefits currently holds a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
