While he arguably never really went away, Mike Myers is experiencing something of a comeback right now. The comedic actor, who is known to an entire generation as the creator and star of the Austin Powers and Wayne's World movies, recently wrote and appeared in Netflix's comedy series The Pentaverate, which in itself was inspired by some of the far-fetched conspiracy theories from his movie So I Married an Axe Murderer. And now he's in the ensemble cast for David O. Russell's period piece Amsterdam alongside Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and Robert DeNiro.

During a late-night interview with Jimmy Fallon to promote the new movie, Myers addressed the possibility of revisiting one of his most iconic roles, the perpetually horny British spy Austin Powers—and admitted that while he has no immediate plans to once again wear the famous glasses and teeth, he's definitely not averse to the idea.

"I don't have anything to announce, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of such a project," he said, adding: "Yeah, I would love to do it, of course, it's fun... I have three kids under the age of 11, I've been super super busy being a dad... I'll see what I can do, Jimmy Fallon!"

Austin Powers was created as an overt parody of the James Bond franchise, which had grown increasingly campy and tongue-in-cheek by the '90s. In each installment, Myers' character was accompanied by a female co-star, aping the tradition of the "Bond girl", and he would face off against his supervillain nemesis Dr. Evil (also played by himself). He last portrayed Powers and Evil in 2002's Goldmember, in which the two arch-enemies were revealed to be long-lost twin brothers, which went some way towards explaining that uncanny resemblance.
