Mike McCarthy Reveals If He Regrets The Final Play Call
The Dallas Cowboys shocked the sports world on Sunday when they ran a quarterback draw with 14 seconds left and no timeouts. It was a costly decision, as Dak Prescott was unable to spike the ball before time expired.
During this Wednesday’s media session, Cowboys head coach McCarthy was asked about the final play from Sunday’s game against the 49ers.
Although many fans questioned Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for calling a quarterback draw, McCarthy believes it was the right decision.

This is the second time that McCarthy has defended the play-call.
“Do you want to be running a Hail Mary play from the 50-yard line or do you want to run five verticals form the 25-yard line?” McCarthy said in Sunday’s postgame press conference, via ESPN. “So, that’s the decision, it’s the right decision.”
McCarthy doesn’t believe the play-call itself was the problem. He thinks the execution between the Cowboys and the official spotting was the issue.
Regardless of what McCarthy thinks, NFL fans will question this decision for at least the next few weeks.
