It's a rematch on the red carpet! Challengers star Mike Faist made his Met Gala red—or should we say green—carpet debut tonight alongside his co-stars from the film, Zendaya and Josh O'Connor.

While it may have been his first time walking up those steps, he looked like a pro stepping out in cream trousers and a classic black tuxedo jacket by Loewe accented by a decidedly untraditional boutonniere—an oversized, embellished radish brooch. Loewe's creative director, Jonathan Anderson, was the costume designer for Challengers, so it was only natural that Faist would turn to the brand for his Met Gala debut, completed with a pair of gleaming, round-toed shoes.

Perhaps he got some guidance from Zendaya, who's not only a practiced hand at making major Met Gala moments, but is also serving as a co-chair for the evening's “The Garden of Time" themed event in honor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute's spring exhibition, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."

During promotions for the film, Zendaya talked about making her Met Gala return (the actress last attended the event in 2019), telling Good Morning America that she was "a little bit nervous," but that with O'Conner and Faist she would "have my crew with me, and we'll keep each other company."

Certainly Faist seems to have learned something from O'Connor, who revealed in the same interview that though he's attended the Met Gala once before, he accidentally went straight into the event without stopping for photographs. This year, O'Connor did manage to make a pictorial appearance at the event in a classic tux updated with whimsical proportions and floral footwear.
