A Midlands Tuesday Morning store will close its doors for good. Here’s what we know

It looks like sunset is coming for a Midlands location of Tuesday Morning.

The company, which sells home decor items, furniture and more, recently announced a wave of store closures as it continues to struggle nationwide. Among the locations on that closure list are the Columbia store at 264 Harbison Blvd. That’s in the Harbison Court shopping center that includes Marshalls, Ross, Rainbow and a host of other national brands.

Store closing sales have already begun at the Harbison location. Two other Tuesday Mornings in the Midlands — one in Lexington and another on Forest Drive remain open.

Tuesday Morning recently filed for bankruptcy for the second time in three years, according to CNN, which reported that the company was restructuring after “exceedingly burdensome debt.” Meanwhile, business news outlet MarketWatch reported that Tuesday Morning will close 263 of its 487 stores.

The Texas-based chain last filed for bankruptcy in May 2020 during the early months of the pandemic.

It’s been a rough moment for home decor and accessories businesses in the Columbia area. Two Bed Bath & Beyond stores in Columbia — one on Garners Ferry Road and one on Two Notch Road — recently announced they would be closing soon.
