Midland Park School District hires Norwood's superintendent
MIDLAND PARK — Kevin Ulmer, superintendent of the Norwood School District, has been named superintendent of the 883-student Midland Park School District.
Ulmer, 46, succeeds Marie Cirasella, who is retiring after 14 years with the district. Ulmer will assume his duties on July 1, according to Board President Brian McCourt.
Ulmer holds a bachelor's degree from Providence College and a master's in educational leadership and administration from Montclair State University.
He previously served as a teacher in Rochelle Park and as a teacher, assistant principal and principal with the Mahwah Public School District. He was named Norwood superintendent in 2021.

The borough's district includes three schools, Godwin Elementary for Grades Pre-K to Grade 2 on East Center Street, Highland Elementary for Grades 3 to 6 on Highland Avenue, and Midland Park Junior Senior High School for Grades 7 to 12 on Prospect Street. Ulmer's starting salary will be $218,000.
