Middle GA honors teachers this week. Here’s where educators can get freebies, discounts

It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week, which means restaurants and businesses are offering specials for teachers to mark the occasion.

The celebration runs from May 6 to May 10. Many local businesses are getting involved, but national chains with local locations are offering discounts too.

Here’s where Middle Georgia teachers and school staff can get discounts on food, supplies and more.

Macon, Warner Robins, Forsyth and more

Blossom Nutrition (Macon): Teachers with a valid ID can get 20% off a tea of choice.

Chick-fil-A (Perry): Based entirely on Perry students’ voices, one lucky teacher will win 52 free Chick-fil-A meal cards to redeem for a year. Students can stop by the restaurant, vote for their favorite teachers, and help them win free meals that include a choice of a chicken sandwich or nuggets that comes with a side of fries and drink. The giveaway will be open until Friday.

Full Circle Health and Wealth (Warner Robins): Teachers and nurses with appropriate ID can receive a $10 discount on a vitamin infusion all week.

Georgia Association of Educators: Members of GAE can enter a drawing to win a $100 gift card.

Guitarras Mexican Grill (Macon): From Monday through Friday, teachers with a valid ID can enjoy 25% off a meal while dining at this Mexican restaurant.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice (Warner Robins): Teachers can receive a free small ice or gelati with show of ID or homeschool credentials on May 7.

Nothing Bundt Cakes (Warner Robins): With a valid school ID, teachers and nurses can have a free red velvet bundtlet. Supplies are limited, and the special is only for May 6.

Perry Players (Perry): Teachers, nurses, law enforcement and other public service workers can purchase 50% off tickets to Perry Players’ musical spring performance “Bright Star” until May 12.

Premier Heating and Air (Forsyth): 20% off repairs and $250 off unit replacements for all Monroe County Schools teachers.

Sugar Magnolia of Macon: From Monday through Friday, teachers can apply a 20% discount at checkout with valid employment ID.

The Vine Boutique (Warner Robins): 15% off purchases at this women’s clothing store. Teachers will also receive an entry to win a “Teacher Essentials Basket and Beach Swag Bag” with each purchase.

National chains offering specials

7 Brew Coffee: From Monday through Friday, any customer who purchases $25 in gift cards will receive a free drink card that will have an expiration date of Aug. 1.

Buffalo Wild Wings: 20% off the entire order for teachers and school staff with a valid ID. The discount is only available for dine-in, call-in and walk-in orders through May 12.

Chick-fil-A: Participating Chick-fil-A locations will offer teachers a free sandwich or 4-piece chicken minis on May 7 with show of school ID.

Golden Corral: Teachers get 20% off one adult buffet purchase Monday through Friday this week with valid ID.

Sonic Drive-In: From Monday through May 20, teachers a part of the Sonic Teacher’s Circle membership can enjoy several deals:

  • Buy one Sonic Blast, get one free

  • Buy one entree, get one free

  • Free Sonic cheeseburger with any purchase

  • Free large drink or slush with any purchase

  • Free small side with entrée purchase

Raising Canes: Between Monday and Friday, teachers can enter the Raising Cane’s sweepstakes to win two round-trip tickets to anywhere in the U.S., a two-night hotel stay and a $200 gift card for vacation spending. Ten winners will be chosen.

Staples: Teachers with valid ID can get a free teacher supply kit at Staples and 20% off on purchases between Sunday and May 11. Supply kits are limited to 20 per store and may not be available in all stores, but the kit can be substituted with an item of equal or greater value.

Whataburger: Teachers and school employees with a valid ID can receive a free breakfast entree of their choice: taquito, breakfast on a bun or honey butter chicken biscuit. The burger chain will also select 63 teachers to receive a $1,000 grant for their school. Offers end on May 10.
