Michigan State basketball hosts Butler; here's what you should know
Butler basketball has rolled through its early schedule as it prepares for its first road game at No. 19 Michigan State (USA TODAY).
The Bulldogs (3-0) haven't been challenged, playing faster and more freely than in recent seasons. Posh Alexander leads Butler with 13.7 points, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Also averaging double figures are D.J. Davis (13.7 ppg, 41.7% 3FG), Pierre Brooks II (13.3 ppg, 4.0 rebounds) and Jahmyl Telfort (11.3 points, 4.0 rebounds).
The Spartans (1-2) started the season ranked in the top 5 before losing their season opener to James Madison. MSU lost to Duke on Tuesday night. Tayson Walker (23.6 points, 2.3 steals) and Malik Hall (11.3) are MSU's lone double-digit scorers. Freshman big man Xavier Booker from Cathedral High School comes off the bench.
