Michelle Yeoh has landed her next lead movie role in The Mother.

The new action thriller will see the Oscar-winner play the role of an immigrant mother and businesswoman called Ann, who looks to make the best of her and her family's new life in the US.

However, she is forced to bring back her past after her two teenage sons get in trouble with a Boston dirty cop and a crime ring, as she goes to any lengths it takes to keep them safe.

Executive producer Alex Kurtzman confirmed work had begun last month, saying: "And we're off to the races!
