Michael Jordan reveals last text exchange with Kobe Bryant

Michael Jordan shared his last text message exchange with Kobe Bryant and not surprisingly, it’s a good-natured ribbing that deals with basketball, competition and family.

His Airness told ESPN that he and Bryant went one-on-one in December 2019 when the former Los Angeles Lakers star texted to say thanks for sending over a bottle of Cincoro Tequila.

Happy holidays and hope to catch up soon,” Jordan replied. “Coach Kobe??!”

After retiring from basketball in 2016, Bryant’s daughter Gianna became the basketball star in the family with dad as her coach. The pair died in a Jan. 26, 2019 helicopter crash while returning home from a game.

Jordan, who retired from the NBA in 2003, said his text to Bryant included laughing and crying emoticons in reference to his pal’s move from the hardwood to the bench.

“Ah, back at you, man,” Kobe responded. “Hey, coach, I’m sitting on the bench right now, and we’re blowing this team out. 45-8.”

Jordan told ESPN he still hasn’t deleted that text because it reminds him of Bryant’s competitive nature. Bryant won five NBA titles with the Lakers. Jordan won six championships with the Chicago Bulls.
